The Blue Heron Inn is located on the edge of a large marsh and tidal creek, ideal for bird watchers and nature lovers.
The inn is about a mile and a half from the Sapelo Ferry Dock, eight miles from exit 58 on Interstate 95 and eight miles from Darien (exit 49). For directions, click here.
Within a short drive of many other coastal attractions, including downtown Brunswick, St. Simon's Island, Jekyll Island, Sea Island and historic Savannah, there is much to do in the area. Kayaking trips and visits to Sapelo Island can also be arranged.
The Blue Heron offers clean, comfortable rooms and three floors of decks and porches overlooking the marsh and tidal creek. Wine and light hors d'oeuvres are offered in the evening with a full breakfast served in the morning.
Innkeepers, Bill and Jan Chamberlain, relocated to the coast from Athens, Georgia. Bill is a retired research chemist. Jan is a registered nurse. Both enjoy sharing their home and fabulous tidal creek and marsh views with others. They look forward to your visit!

We are the closest accommodations to the Sapelo Island ferry dock and Visitors Center.
